Join us for the acclaimed DDN QTE 501 Boardroom Masterclass for AI, digital and cybersecurity leaders to strengthen your influence and effectiveness in the corporate boardroom.
The DDN QTE 501 Boardroom Masterclass is a live executive education learning experience focused on strengthening the ability of AI, digital and cybersecurity leaders to excel in the corporate boardroom. QTE 501 is CPD Certified and delivers 13 hours of continuing professional development.
QTE 501 is for Directors, CIOs, CISOs, CROs, CDOs, CTOs, and other technology and cybersecurity leaders to strengthen their role and influence in the boardroom. Directors and CFO's also join to understand the latest issues in governing these risks. QTE 501 helps participants understand and apply the leading frameworks in systemic cyber risk and digital/cybersecurity risk oversight. It will improve their ability to work effectively with the corporate board and start them on a path to understanding how to serve as a corporate director. Directors and CFO's find the Masterclass helpful in understanding the leading practices in AI, digital and cybersecurity corporate governance, and how to effectively govern these risks.
Participants will join almost 700 AI, digital and cybersecurity leaders from leading organizations around the world who have completed the QTE 501 to earn their Boardroom Qualified Technology Expert (QTE) Certification.
MASTERCLASS OVERVIEW
The QTE Boardroom Masterclass is designed to deliver the executive education experience that these leaders need to understand corporate governance, the developing practice of AI, digital and cybersecurity risk oversight, systemic risk, and their expanding role in the boardroom. QTE 501 is taught to leading business school academic standards by peers and leading practitioners.
Qualified Technology Experts (QTEs) are boardroom-competent and ready AI, digital and cybersecurity executives with applied knowledge in one or more domains of a complex AI or digital business system, who pass the QTE examination, leaders without this applied knowledge and background who are raising their literacy levels on AI, digital and cybersecurity governance will receive a course Certificate of Completion.
This is a business school learning experience taught by leading experts in systemic risk and digital and cybersecurity risk oversight. It is not an industry-style event.
The online class has six live modules held over two consecutive weeks. On the 6th day, participants will also be able to sit for the QTE exam. Class days for this cohort are:

LEARNING GOALS
This class has three key learning objectives targeted at developing a range of critical corporate governance competencies for the AI, digital and cybersecurity leader.
1. Improve their ability to confidently lead and communicate in the corporate boardroom.
2. Develop their ability to become effective corporate directors and assist in launching their path to the boardroom.
3. Establish core general director competencies in corporate governance and specific competencies in AI, digital and cybersecurity risk oversight along with developing an applied understanding and ability to identify systemic risk in complex digital business systems.
Upon completion of the course, participants will:
- Understand the role of the corporate board, director and leading practices in AI, digital and cybersecurity governance.
- Improve their ability to convey complex technical issues to corporate directors.
- Gain an understanding of and ability to identify systemic risk in complex digital business systems.
- Understand the new SEC disclosure rules, including how to go from a cybersecurity incident to determining materiality for private or public companies.
- Know what boardroom directorship entails, and pays for private and public companies, and how to pursue a board seat, including how to draft a board bio.
- Be informed of the trends shaping the future of corporate governance, the board, and the role and responsibilities of the corporate director.
- Understand the legal issues and trends facing the corporate director and boardroom.
- Be able to disclose their QTE credential as a U.S. Form 10-K disclosure item pursuant to SEC CISO expertise disclosure rules, as UA, Kellanova, Roper and others have.
FACULTY
The QTE Boardroom Masterclass is the only executive learning program designed and taught by practitioners and peers in corporate governance and AI, digital and cybersecurity oversight and management.
The lead designer and instructor for the curriculum is Bob Zukis, former USC Marshall School of Business Professor, DDN CEO/Founder, retired PwC Advisory Partner, and former Bloomfire CEO and Executive Director. Bob brings over thirty-five years of business and IT leadership experience and academic rigor to the QTE learning experience.
He is a Senior Fellow in The Conference Board's ESG Center, an emeritus board member of the NACD PSW chapter, and a prolific author and speaker on AI, digital and cybersecurity leadership, governance, and systemic risk. As a PwC Advisory partner, Bob led their IT strategy/operations, data management and West Coast cybersecurity practices.
DDN Faculty members also teach the QTE 501 Masterclass.
TEACHING METHOD
QTE 501 is taught to leading business school standards. Participants will experience engaging lectures, exercises, peer discussions, and case reviews focusing on the key knowledge, skills, and practical tools they need to understand to be effective as a director in the corporate boardroom or in working within the boardroom.
Classes are recorded for participant use only, for study, and in the event of interruptions or scheduling conflicts.
QTE CERTIFICATION AND CPD
Attendees will also be eligible to sit for the QTE certification exam upon class completion. Participation in the class is a prerequisite for taking the QTE Certification exam.
The QTE Certification exam is based on the content covered in the pre-reading and also on the key concepts that will be discussed in class. The exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions and requires a 70% passing score to earn QTE Certification. Exams can only be taken in our online environment.
Participants complete 13 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours of executive education in the masterclass. CPD hours of learner interaction include classroom, self-paced pre-reading, and homework in support of the learning outcomes of the masterclass. Ten hours of ongoing education is required every two years to maintain current QTE Certification.
OTHER QTE BENEFITS
Participants will also be able to opt in to registration with the Equilar Diversity Network. Equilar is working with DDN and NASDAQ to advance AI, digital and cybersecurity diversity in the boardroom.
REGISTRATION
Upon registration, participants will be sent their course textbooks and all other materials to the address they provide during online registration. We estimate that 6-7 hours of pre-reading is required throughout the class period.
We keep classes small to facilitate engagement and the learning experience for all participants. If there are any conflicts with a scheduled class, participants will be able to watch the recorded class online.
